As I write this letter, nearly eighty SBN members are sailing onboard the beautiful Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Breakaway for ASTA’s 2014 Global Convention, learning more about various destinations, marketing ideas, new sales techniques.
We held a SBN Day at Sea during the cruise, so SBN members could network with one another and catch up on the latest SBN programs and announcements. One important announcement was the appointment of the 2014-2015 SBN Regional Director Team. Thank you, Regional Directors, for your leadership and service to the SBN Chapters: Lorene Romero, Western Region; Tim Larison, South Western Region; Senora Kelly, South Central Region; Deb Belchak, North Central Region; Toni Day, North East Region; and Eddie Woodham, South Eastern Region. This team will help guide SBN to make more precise decisions that improve SBN membership offerings and will facilitate stronger networking among the chapters within their designated regions.
Also onboard the Breakaway, The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau representative gave an informative workshop on selling the Hawaiian Islands. This is fitting, as SBN has announced our 2015 conference to be held at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay, November 8 – 12, 2015. To make the most of your experience, we’ve arranged space for conference attendees to take a pre-conference cruise onboard the Norwegian Pride of America, October 31 – November 7. Experiences on land and sea are sure to help you better understand all Hawaii has to offer your valued clients. I thank HVCB for its outstanding support of the SBN association, particularly with its visibility at our annual conferences and investment in our FAM programs. The Hawaii masters training and certification program always receives high marks from our members. SBN has an excellent relationship with HVCB and Starwood Hotels and Resorts—a winning combination sure to make our 2015 annual conference a spectacular event and one not to be missed.
Mahalo! I look forward to having you join us in Kona, Hawaii, in 2015.
