Alexandria, VA, May 2, 2016—SBN (formerly NACTA) is planning special educational opportunities and prize drawings in May, which it is designating “Travel Consultant Appreciation Month.”
In celebration of the event, SBN will feature two free webinars, special content, offers, and prizes explicitly for travel consultants. In addition, in honor of SBN’s 30th anniversary conference celebration, one SBN ( member will be chosen in a Grand Prize drawing for a three-day conference pass along with a complimentary three-night stay at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Hotel during the event, valued at $750. SBN members also have a chance to win a 2nd Grand Prize drawing—a complimentary conference pass to attend the 2017 SBN Annual Conference in Anchorage, Alaska in September 2017.
“We really want to recognize what travel consultants do every day to assist their clients, and this month is really about giving back to them in the same way they give back to their clients,” said Ann Chamberlin, SBN President. “The importance of a travel consultant both in terms of having a better experience and getting a better deal cannot be overlooked. We know from research that 63 percent of travelers who use a travel consultant are more satisfied than those who do not.”
According to new research from the American Society of Travel Agents, travel consultants save travelers on average four hours in trip planning, and $452 from the total cost of the trip. “The question isn’t why would I use a travel agent,” said Chamberlin, “it really ought to be, why wouldn’t I?” For anyone unsure of how to find a professional travel consultant and why to use a travel consultant, SBN has made it easy at FindATravelConsultant.com.
Among the special events SBN will be hosting in May are two complimentary business development webinars. One of the webinars, “Get More Leads Online with Inbound Marketing Tactics,” is sponsored by Groups Today. SBN anticipates more than 15 suppliers will participate in recognizing SBN travel consultants during National Travel Consultant Month through various bonus commission and consumer offers, and educational sessions. In addition, SBN members can bring an agent guest to attend their chapter meeting for free in recognition of appreciation month. Travel consultants that are not members of SBN can use coupon code “SBN30” for special SBN Membership savings throughout the month.
Travel Consultant Appreciation Month participants will be entered into weekly drawings to win gift cards, complimentary subscriptions, and other prizes. SBN members can take advantage of bonus commissions and extra amenities for their clients. In recognition of participating suppliers, a unique Web page will be showcased to promote their appreciation offers for travel consultants. Visit www.NACTA.com/travelconsultantmonth for more details.
