In 2014 we had much to be thankful for. NACTA welcomed 338 new members, added nine chapters (including one in eastern Ontario, Canada), and appointed our second-term regional director team.
I’m grateful for the Chapter Directors and their boards, who tirelessly put together compelling member meetings. They are passionate about our industry and NACTA—a community of like-minded travel consultants who enjoy helping one another be their best. Sandals graciously hosted chapter directors at our annual meeting, at Sandals Grande Riviera, during which they shared their ideas and gave important feedback to NACTA headquarters to strengthen our program. NACTA staff eagerly work to do the same for members, at our annual conference.
Many participants enjoyed our 2014 conference, at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa in Phoenix. We scored 4.4 of a possible 5 points from members and suppliers surveyed about their conference experience. While I was pleased with our score, most important was reading the attendees’ comments, to learn how we can continue to improve meeting sessions and exceed conference expectations. Hawai’i Visitors & Convention Bureau dazzled us with a generous NACTA gala awards dinner, including entertainment by professional performers flown in from Hawai’i! Fresh flower leis, personalized gifts, and a warm welcome made the evening unforgettable. Also unforgettable were the Western-themed dinner and entertainment at the country-western venue Rawhide, thanks to Holland America Line.
With 2015 comes further membership value. While dues increased to $165 ($125 if renewing at the loyalty member rate), a new benefit will help interested travelers find you. Through the live FindaTravelConsultant.com website, consumers can learn how and why to use a professional NACTA travel consultant, find your personalized NACTA One Sheet, and read about your expertise and specialization. We’re launching an intuitive, easy-to-navigate NACTA website for members, with concise, organized, more easily shared information that allows members to better understand NACTA’s value, read about program benefits, and quickly find our supplier portfolio and education center.
In closing I am appreciative of the many friendships I have formed while working at NACTA and am thankful to our generous suppliers for supporting NACTA. With the energy and excitement of the New Year, I wish you all personal growth, business success, and true happiness.
Very Kind Regards,
